(DALLAS-FT. WORTH, TEXAS – DFW Retirement Planners News) April is Financial Literacy Month and on DFW Retirement Radio we’re talking about ways to teach young people about money. Throughout the month, be listening to our Financial Literacy Updates which will detail how you can successfully connect with young people regarding better money management. DFW Retirement Radio is on the air Saturdays, 2-3 PM on 820 WBAP Radio. DFW Retirement Radio is sponsored by DFW Retirement Planners.
Britni Levensailor, VP and Senior Planner at DFW Retirement Planners, says that teaching financial literacy starts can start at a young age. She said, “We don’t realize it, but even toddlers can be taught to value money on some levels. During the month of April we’ll be talking about simple activities that we can involve children in to teach money smarts.”
Pete Thomson, cohost of DFW Retirement Radio, said Financial Literacy Month is an important time to remind ourselves of the important role that parents and grandparents play in our children’s lives. Thomson said, “Someone once said that values aren’t taught, but rather they’re caught. Young people learn by observing how we live our lives and our day-to-day habits regarding money teach young people a lot.”
